VectorQuest was a team project where we collaborated in a group of three to develop a game for a client who requested a math-based educational game. We came up with the idea of a 2D spaceship shooter that uses vectors for movement, requiring players to input x and y coordinates to navigate the game.
This project taught me valuable lessons about working for clients, as well as how to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team of individuals with varying levels of experience. The experience was instrumental in developing my teamwork and client interaction skills.
Gameplay:
In VectorQuest, players use X and Y coordinates to move their ship and shoot incoming asteroids. With only six health points, caution is essential. As the game progresses, more asteroids appear each minute, requiring quicker movements. The game offers health pickups and extra shooting points, which players can obtain by solving simple math equations. Play until you lose; the higher your score, the better!
Game Mechanics such as Shooting, Enemy such as different types of asteroids, and Spawn point that speeds ups every minute
My role was also to create scene setup for the game
